Parents Victoria supports the RACV’s call for all schools to have 40km/h speed limits on adjacent roads.
Parents Victoria lobbied the Victorian Government for 4 years to obtain the 40km/h school speed zones that most Victorian schools have today. However, the RACV estimated in late 2019 that almost 150 schools still had a 60km/h limit on roads where children cross frequently.
According to the RACV, the research evidence is clear; lower speed limits save lives.
