We’ve been looking at a lot of school websites, and we noticed the Parents and Friends Association at Kennington Primary School in Bendigo. This club really has a way of making parents feel welcome and included.
As an example, in the first school newsletter of 2023, the club had a colourful full-page promotion for their Prep families social event (see the headline in the image above). What a great welcome, and new families certainly couldn’t have missed it!
On their page on the school website, the club has a downloadable flyer with lots of information about the club and how parents can get involved. Once again, it’s colourful and very welcoming. This club even has its own room at the school, which they use to plan and organise events.
You can do it too
A hint for other clubs – even if you don’t have someone in the club with graphic design/layout or technical skills, you can still do great communications with free or very cheap online services. See our online resources for Parent Clubs page.
