Guest speakers at meetings

The Parents and Friends Association at Williamstown High School has a great way of making their meetings more interesting and bringing useful information and inspiration to their school community – they regularly invite guest speakers to the meetings. Among others, this year they’ve had (or are planning):

  • Student leaders speaking about their experiences and what they’ve learnt from the PFA-funded student leadership conference attended in February.
  • Careers Practitioner Anna Bovdis, speaking about the upcoming VCE subject selection process.
  • Garrett Drago, the school’s resident marine biologist, who’ll be showing them the new aquariums that were funded by the PFA in 2023

Having a guest speaker adds a whole new dimension to a meeting – and will likely bring along a whole new group of parents who are interested in what the speaker has to say. An excellent idea to build into your Parent Club meetings!
(By the way, we love their logo – featured at the top of this article. The school logo features an anchor, which the P&F has adapted – with a little twist!)
