Down Brighton way, in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs, there’s a traditional annual dads’ football match between the Lions (Brighton Primary School) and the Dreamers (Brighton Beach Primary School). In 2024, the mums joined in the fun with a netball match between the two schools.
Held in August, the matches were organised by the Parent Clubs at the two schools. While Brighton Beach won on the field, both schools were winners – these sporting matches were fantastic community events, bringing together the two school communities for a fun day and also contributing to fundraising for the schools. Well done to those Parent Clubs, and may this tradition continue!
